We made this over the weekend when it was rainy. It came out fantastic. I
would highly recommend!

3-5 minutes for claims maybe over cook….in chinese restaurant, we used
just hot water to steam for 8 seconds then put it in the pot, ( so the sand
wont go into the pot, and pre-heat), much clean and faster in serving the
meal 🙂

i tried making the clam soup a couple of months back and it hit the spot.
added chilli padi and it was mind blowing. rewatching this means time to be
busy in the kitchen again!

The broth really needs a more base and rich flavor.. That seemed a bit too
watery. But thats just Gordon’s style I guess.

Im from Vietnam and I dont think putting coriander into broth is good idea.
We always leave it until serving in order to keep its green.

i love these videos, the only thing is that guys who aren’t chefs (like me)
cant tell some of the amounts that are going into this, other videos tell
the amounts very clearly and i love those because even a schmuck like me
can make these beautiful amazing dishes (this christmas ill try the beef
wellington) i hope to see more and try and learn as much as i can. you’re
great chef and we love you.

don’t be impatient and cook the rice noodles 10mins before serving. it’s
better to soak it in cold water over time, so that the texture is even
throughout, and it doesn’t break too easily

-125g plain flour, sifted
-1 tsp baking powder
-75g caster sugar, plus extra for sprinkling
-25g desiccated coconut
-Finely grated zest of 1 lime
-Pinch of salt
-4 ripe bananas, peeled and mashed (about 400g flesh in total)
-Vegetable oil, for frying
