Is there any salt-conservative version of this? Is the salt reusable? This
seems like a waste of a lot of salt.

why does he always make pretty small portions for like an entire group of
people in all of his videos? i bet he makes like double the portion when he
actually cooks for his family in private.

tried this dish 3 times now. I braised the leeks for 30 minutes instead of
12 minutes-advice of Gordon.Still the leeks are a bit to hard to bite. This
recipe is not right for me. Sorry Gordon, i’m a fan , but this is the first
dish i don’t like.

I thought leeks were fairly gritty and had to be split and rinsed before
cooking.

A tip for the people complaning about the cost of salt.

Dont use seasalt for this. Use the cheapest salt you can find. I use
DISHWASHER salt its DIRT cheap (make sure you look at the contents im not
sure if some of them have added other things than salt, but most of them
should be 100% regular NaCl salt!) a 5lbs bag costs like 1-2$ which is
enough for this recipe.

Its weird to me because when I look at other Salt Crusted Sea Bream videos,
they all use an egg white paste to put the salt on but Gordon just uses
salt and water. 😐 They’re morons.

The one thing is, he did not clean the inside of the leeks, where there
might be soil

if anyone or even Gordon could answer this question, that would be great:
can we actually recycle using these salt after baked in the oven. I think
it would be just great if we could recycle using these salt and i believe
it’s sort of like the proven dough when in ancient China, the bakery always
put the used proven dough mix with the new dough and left a small piece
proven dough everytime. And this sort of recycle the old dough actually
becomes a secrete ingredient for that baker.
