sure it was pretentious, but i feel as though gordon might be envious of
this frenchies ability to keep his staff in line, without hiccups and
without the need to have a scream off.

The only time you will see Gordon Ramsay act in a rational manner in
discussing a restaurant’s shortcomings. His bluster on American TV however,
is a horse of a different color.

“A lot to criticise?” Not really. He was actually pretty nice to this
guy!

Wow, this restaurant makes me uncomfortable just watching it. The staff
look ready to beat up anyone who eats anything in the wrong order. This
place isn’t going to last, people. Nobody in their right mind would want
this experience, prestigious or not.

Perhaps it’s like noodling on an instrument, which is impressive but
completely unnecessary and takes away from the imagination!

Gordon is a retard. If he was a music critic watching someone play jazz
music with all kinds of fancy chords, modes, time signatures, solos and
everything he would probably say “it’s really good, but I’d prefer it if
you could just play a normal 4/4 pop song a la britney spears.” This kind
of anti-virtuosity mentality to want to dumb everything down is stupid.

he’s complaining about the over management of everything! including over
the guests. i would imagine people telling how to eat would feel weird.
it’s just a place for rich guys to get laid.

I love Gordon, yes ok he shouts and swear and can be crude at times but.
goddamn if he isn’t good at what he does. He is classed as one of the best
cooks in the world and yet he has no pretense he isn’t trying to be
something hes not. I mean look he could have gone into that kitchen and
shouted his head off but he didn’t because he knows the chef’s heart is in
the right place he just feels he’s got something to prove and will do that
by taking his dishes massively over the top. Great analysis, Great video.
Fantastic.

This was my favorite episode. Different than all others. Chef was
technically superb but way too over the top. A lesson in simplicity and
humble pie. Far better than screaming and yakking at incompetent chefs
and restauranteurs of other eps.

Marco Pierre White should be doing a kitchen nightmare. That guy is a food
genius. And he scares the shit out of people without all the cursing.

I think in this one the chef was doing impressive things and I don’t think
he should be discouraged for his creativity and skill.
But doing that kind of mean if and when the restaurant got busy could be a
real difficult job.
People might not have been going there b/c like Gordon said “It’s
uncomfortable with all the high-attitude and staff hanging around”.
People might not go there because it’s too complicated and pretentious.
It seems like a great effort but ultimately reducing the complicated
EVERYTHING is probably the right way to go.

In Masterchef, Gordon praised a professional chef who used over 20-40
different things inside of one dish. (Ref: Season 4, this one challenge
inside a high-end Asian fusion restaurant)

So for him to be giving crap to this guy for having too much on the plate,
I almost guarantee Gordon had to make that stuff up just to fill up the
time for the episode.

to be honest, no one cares how much flavors are on the plate, all they know
is that their hungry and food is gna be eaten. Gordon standards are to
high, which is why everything he eats taste like donkey shit

Cant fucking stand that type of food, I don’t care how it looks or is
presented it’s all going to look the same at the other end.
Why the fuck do they present such small fucking meals on such large plates?

Gordon he knows that this guy can; and desires, to cook well and has
adequate skills, but has gone off the rails; i really wish there were more
episodes like this instead of Gordon wasting his wisdom trying to mitigate
the menagerie of monkeys that should instead be working in a video store
instead of running/owning a restaurant; people who’s Gordon Ramsey’s time
is wasted on imho.
I want to see the passionate yet misguided people benefit more than just
the mental absentee dickholes like Amy and Samy who never deserved Gordon’s
resources to begin with.
No denying that perhaps it made good TV at the time, and an ongoing
controversy to increase popularity of the show, but ultimately depresses me
when i think about it for longer than 5 seconds.
Hell, i could have started a restaurant myself and had Ramseys guidance and
achieved 10 fold+ of what most of the ingrates on his show have failed to
utilize.
SMFH…
